RACIAL RECONCILIATION PROGRAM
Community Faith Partners believes that for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10), we must treat all humans as the image of God (Genesis 1:27). This includes addressing systemic injustice through both acts of compassion and working to change unjust laws and biased norms (Micah 6:8) and (Isaiah 58). Knowing that God will ultimately end all injustice in Christ’s return (Revelation 7:9), we believe we must join God as He sets individuals free from personal prejudice and hatred (the sins of the flesh, Galatians 5:20) and intervenes in society to reduce systemic injustice (the sins of the world, 1 John 2:17).
Therefore, CFP stands for a deeper understanding of those who have been mistreated due to skin color, ethnicity, or heritage. In order to love our neighbors as ourselves (Luke 10:25-37), we stand against systemic racism and other social injustices, including but not limited to sexism, ageism, ableism, violence against the unborn, and the exploitation of the poor (Jeremiah 22:3).
CFP purposes to educate the local Body of Christ on issues of systemic injustice, mobilize the local Body of Christ to address and decrease systemic injustice in Tompkins County, and engage in acts of compassion for all those who need help, but especially those whose suffering has been exacerbated by injustice.
