Working

Community Faith Partners’ Care Day began out of an endeavor to meet the need of someone who’s need wasn’t being met by anyone else. The group of pastors, leaders, and other individuals gathered volunteers and resources needed and became Christ’s hands and feet to help this individual. After just one day of hard work, the team installed streetlights in four different places around town that did not previously have light. That became known as the “City of Lights” project and was a tangible and literal way to bring light to the darkness. Care Day was born from this expression of generosity.

Care Day is an exciting time to come together and make a difference in Tompkins County. Cooperation ensures community involvement. Community Faith Partners began its mission with the purpose of helping ones who needed assistance in our community. We were able to do this by doing together what one person or church could not do alone. In the early years of Care Day, we assisted our community by putting lights in the park, cleaning up the highway, assisting the elderly with gardening, raking leaves, and spring cleaning and CFP Care Day has burgeoned into mobilizing students and community members to serve in multiple locations across the area, making a difference in lives and living situations.
